A gown was often colored so that it could be worn as best dress after the wedding. The fabric was purchased from a traveling man who sold fabric as well as a variety of other things. The gown consists of: skirt, top (blouse), cummerbund, neck insert with beads and lace, and long ruffled petticoat. with pink trim.
